The South Sound Community Center in Grand Cayman is a sea side park located about 2 Miles south of George Town. The park provides access to Coconut Walk Bay.
The location includes off street parking and a small beach.
Because of the geological features of the area, high waves and strong currents are common, making the beach a favorite for water sport enthusiasts. It is not uncommon to see paddle boarders, surfers and kayaks plowing through the waves. A short distance off the beach is a small island that is great to explore for shells, sea creatures or simply to take a break.
On the weekend, the beach is typically quite crowded with local sports enthusiasts and community groups.
The currents can be strong and change quickly; therefore swimming is not recommended for small children or novice swimmers.
